We ended going to Maine because I had the travel itch and pretty soon airlines were going to think I was too pregnant to fly. Normally we opt for far away places or places out of the country, but with a short time frame and zika limiting our travel to close areas such as Mexico and the Caribbean. I thought why not try a state I have actually never been to.
Transport:
I booked some of our flights with miles. The cost of the rest was about 300 for both of us.
We booked a rental car. At 72 dollars a day with a AAA discount this was a hard pill to swallow.
Food or in this case Lobster:
Not a cheap food, buy while in Maine. Upon landing we went to downtown Portland and tried High Roller. The lobster roll was good but 19 dollars, and the lobster grilled cheese. Well in my opinion seafood and dairy are not a great combo, unless its clarified butter.
Also in Portland we tried Portland Lobster company which was very tourist heavy and not as good as High roller.
Near Acadia we went to Beals lobster which was by far the best lobster roll we had.
